What's the WLD6 support policy once WL7 is released?

Particularly I'm interested in the following parts.

1. Updates. How long will you update WLD6 for fixing bugs and issues?
2. Activation. How long will WLD6 activation server be running?
3. Extensions. How long will you update WLD6 extensions for compatibility issues (e.g. IQFeed Data Provider stops working due to a change in IQFeed Client)?

I may have to use WLD6 for an extended period of time after WL7 is released until I figure out how to automate WL7.

From Eugene in Post 87 12/23/2020 regarding the broken Tiingo provider: https://www.wealth-lab.com/Forum/Posts/Tiingo-static-and-fundamental-data-provider-38870

The unsupported extensions status was confirmed 1/1/2021 with the broken CBOE provider in post 54 here https://www.wealth-lab.com/Forum/Posts/CBOE-Put-Call-Ratio-static-data-provider-30678

data can no longer be updated using the WL6 provider. This will be fixed in upcoming WL7's data provider

Elimination of support came as a surprise since I thought maintenance was paid and to be provided thru 2021. With no announced policy to the contrary those posts seem to imply WL6 updates for all issues are ended and all programming is moved exclusively to WL7.

It was just several months ago when I completed migrating from WLP6 to WLD6 after Fidelity all of the sudden discontinued WLP6 while giving us just a few months grace period for migrating to WLD6.

Now WLD6 is no longer supported and we are forced to migrate to WL7 without any grace period?

Sorry for not responding to the important points raised by @kazuna here, the team will get to it soon! This is not an official response yet.

Extensions in WL6 are not an inherent part of the product which make it cease to function if they're broken. Being premium content available to our customers, extensions in WL6 are distributed for free and without a strict obligation with regard to their lifecycle and support. But practically, they were supported pretty much passionately. ;-)

For @KGo, every software has bugs which doesn't mean it's broken. The Tiingo provider has NOT been broken and keeps working to deliver OHLCV data and split/dividend - if you disregard that minor dividend adjustment issue.

Re: "we no longer update the WL6 extensions": at the moment it's completely true as we're focused on WL7 development and just cannot dedicate time to anything else. Fortunately, no WL6 data extension is broken. I'm probably not far from truth by saying that we no longer update WL6 extensions with new features and minor bug fixes.

That would be great if you can give us a grace period before completely discontinuing an older version after releasing new version.

We plan to offer a grace period after release of WL7 for existing customers (meaning WLD6 will not be discontinued for them immediately). But we will stop accepting new WLD6 license sales after release.
