Does anyone know what markets virtual trading is restricted too? I am assuming that since the currency displayed is USD that we can't trade LSE quoted shares.

You can ignore the $ symbol. Quotes from exchanges are in the exchange currency, however, all monies are treated as the same currency in Wealth-Lab.

Since it is not possible to add .L to a symbol on the trade page it would seem we are restricted to virtual trading of US shares.

Not on my system. Strategies & Trading / Virtual trading / Manage Your Trades - the symbol input box will only accept upper/lower case letters, numbers and punctuation symbols are not accepted.

Right, Virtual Trading is U.S. markets only. Since it's a EOD trading game, it can support only one market.
Under "Manage Your Trades" click the "Show Rules" link right under "New Order"
