Hi,

I'm not familiar with this scripting language and don't understand what this "cm2" thing means:

Having no explanation on the oscillator by its author hardly helps. Googling for that "cm2 tradingview" points to that same RMO page rather than to a description of the function.

That makes it pretty clear. Nothing new under the Sun. As states a page with Metastock code, "The Rahul Mohindar Oscillator (RMO) is a type of technical analysis developed by Rahul Mohindar of Viratech India."

Oh c'mon Rahul Mohindar, whoever you are! This is exactly the Rainbow Oscillator, part of TASCIndicators. Published by Mel Widner some 23 years ago, it's "based on a recursively smoothed (usually ten times) simple moving average (usually two-period)." [Original article in PDF]

Check out the open source code to make sure we're talking about the same thing.

Oops, by far I'm not the first to have noticed this "adoption". Check out the forum post on MT forums from 2009:

Rahul Mohindar Oscillator - page 3

Renamed the topic title accordingly.

It's hard to invent an indicator these days ;) Many authors try to tweak known formulas slightly. If you take TASC Traders Tips for example, you can find quite a number of such attempts in 2019-2020.

Glad to have helped.
