Norgate Data extension released.

Norgate Data provider

The Norgate Data extension makes it possible for Wealth-Lab users to access the Norgate Data database with its survivorship-bias-free data, including delisted stocks and historical index constituents backtesting capabilties, dividends and additional fundamental and economic indicators.

For more information about Norgate Data's capabilities, please visit:

Hi Guys,

I've just added the NorgateData plugin - when I go to create a new Dataset it returns an unhandled exception with the error text below.

I've tried disabling antivirus when installing the plugin and creating the dataset, doesn't make a difference.

In the Norgate Data Updater integration tab shows "ok" status for both wealth-lab and the norgate plugin.

Any ideas?

You may have better success contacting NorgateData directly e.g. by email. But I've given a heads-up to them, too.

This issue has been resolved. Simply shut down Wealth-Lab, start NDU, click Check for Updates, wait until the upgrade process is complete then start Wealth-Lab again.

Thanks Eugene - much appreciated for those links.

Norgate Data offers multiple adjustment methods. If you prefer to use incorporate/adjust for dividends in the price data, you can use the adjustment method that incorporates them.

If you prefer to analyze cash dividends separately, we allow this too, and indicators that allow you to access the dividend data.\

A quick way of seeing how the different adjustment methods affect the price data is to start Norgate Data Updater and click Tools -> Data Viewer. Click the Data Configuration->Stocks in the ribbon bar to change the adjustment method and you can see the effect on price data.

The choice is yours as to how you want to incorporate dividends.

Cheers,
Richard.
