I am a USA client who bought WL 3 roughly 15 years ago. I still have it on a slow, old Windows XP computer, but I can't upgrade to my new computer due to no activation code.

For years, I was told I can't receive an activation code or buy a newer version of WL due to the Fidelity deal, which is now defunct.

I notice there are various versions of Wealth-Lab available now. I am looking for one that uses the same scripting language as WL3. What options are available to me?

Can I buy the new one for $399?
Can I buy anything at all?
If I can buy any of the above, are there any free EOD data providers built in? Yahoo no longer works on my old computer.

Welcome back Clarence.

Yes, it's possible to purchase the latest Wealth-Lab version 6.9 in the U.S. or Canada now. Here's a bullet list of its highlights and a comparison of changes with the move to .NET.

There are about 20 static and over a dozen fundamental providers that offer free data. Our providers are always free to download but some data vendors may charge a monthly fee for subscription (e.g. Zacks, Norgate, IQFeed etc.) There's an extensive list of free and subscription-based data providers that we support at:

You might find this overview more convenient to grasp as it breaks them down by type, price and markets:

Sure, Yahoo works and does it way better than in WL3. Data updates have been much faster due to multi-threading. Historical data doesn't require periodic refreshes due to stock splits. There are streaming quotes etc.
