Hi,

i am a wealth lab subscriber and i get my data from Premium data.
I would like to get intraday data on ASX and Forex.
Premium Data said they only have end of day Data and cannot help me.
I notice your time scale on wealth lab allows for 1hr to 1 min. time frames.
My question is, do you know how i can obtain this intraday data to work on Wealth lab?
Thanks

Hi,

IQFeed data provider supports intraday data for Forex, Futures and U.S. stocks. As far as I know, there's no ASX. It's paid subscription. You can use this provider for backtesting as well as live trading.

Sure you'll find some intraday data vendors for ASX if you search Google. The compatible formats for WL are ASCII (CSV) and Metastock. Note that they will only work for backtesting - these providers aren't compatible with live trading using Strategy Monitor or streaming Strategy charts.

Using IQFeed is not different from other providers. Please refer to the User Guide > Data > Data Manager > Create New DataSet. Should you have specific questions re: IQFeed, don't hesitate to ask them in a new forum topic.

I am only doing back-testing at this time, is there a free data provider that has non-realtime intraday data for back-testing?

This is for symbols from for Nasdaq and NYSE indexes. Thanks.

So why are were you asking your question in an existing topic that has had EODdata in its title, clearly suggesting it does not concern intraday data?

Eugene,

I was more looking at the statement “ I'm still looking for a data provider” from post #1. Btw, eoddata.com has intraday data available on its website - its name is a bit confusing ;). My option now is to follow that from the post at https://wealth-lab.com/Forum/Posts/AlphaVantage-provider-free-historical-intraday-daily-data-for-U-S-stocks-and-Forex-39150 or go with IQFeed.

Tom,

Point taken. AlphaVantage's free intraday data is somewhat short for backtesting so IQFeed is probably the optimal choice.

Thanks Eugene. Yes, I will try to get the AlphaVantage intraday data to append to that from Fidelity’s. If this does not work out, I will go with IQFeed.
