For the data range function, if I set the scale for 5 minutes, and the data range for 100 bars, I notice that there are candle sticks present without the respective technical indicator analysis. Is there a way to change this function?

Your thoughts and guidance are appreciated!

Correct. Until you drag an indicator or code an indicator for a strategy, you'll have nothing. See the Wealth-Lab User Guide >> Charting >> Plotting Indicators for more information.

Well, such problem description sounds pretty cryptic so that not many would understand what you actually meant to say. Please take your time to read this insightful article: How To Ask Questions The Smart Way. And sometimes a picture is worth a thousand words so to clarify your explanation, you could send a screen shot by striking the "Print Screen" key and then pasting into Paint or other imaging application. Save as PNG and attach.

Nonetheless, apparently what's happened is that you dragged and dropped an indicator with a long period (say 200-period SMA) and it doesn't appear on the chart when the data range is too short for it (only 100 bars). In this case you simply have to select a greater date range - there's no other solution for charting and drag & drop now.

Code-based Strategies do have a workaround, and it's a FAQ: How to start Buy&Hold from specific bar (not at bar #0)? This also applies to charting an indicator created in code.

I really appreciate you sending that article my way. It explains so much of the coding mindset that I am going to try to learn from. Thank you.

Glad I could be of assistance. But does changing the date range help?
