When I try to download static data for an IQFeed dataset, I get the warning: "IQFeed: Error getting history (XYL): The system cannot find the file specified."

Well,... although that error message is technically correct, I just created this IQFeed dataset, so there isn't any existing data files available. All that's there is one file called ...\AppData\Roaming\WealthLab7\IQFeed\StartDateRegister which has stuff like:

WSFS;5 Minute=637465248000000000
WSFS;60 Minute=636990048000000000
XYL;1 Minute=637499808000000000
XYL;10 Minute=637422048000000000
XYL;15 Minute=637378848000000000
XYL;30 Minute=637249248000000000
XYL;5 Minute=637465248000000000
XYL;60 Minute=636990048000000000
ZNGA;1 Minute=637499808000000000
ZNGA;10 Minute=637422048000000000

So what's going wrong? Is there hidden problem unrelated to this error message?

Off topic, but please don't reveal my IQFeed password in the Streaming Provider-Specific Settings. Just say ********* for my password.

I have a followup question. Does the IQFeed client accept multiple connections like from both WL6 and WL7 at the same time? I'm running IQFeed client version 6.1.0.20.

If so, won't the OS automatically assign different port#s to WL6 and WL7 if the IQFeed provider is making the "appropriate" TCP connection request?

If the IQFeed client doesn't accept multiple connections, it would be nice if the IQFeed provider tested the connection first and reported back that it's busy with another application.

And there's an unrelated IQFeed install problem. InstallShield is creating two separate StartMenu folders. Yes, one might be created by a WL6 install script and the other by a WL7 install.

One is called "IQFeed" and the other is called "IQFeed Application". They both have the same shortcuts, so I deleted the latter. InstallShield (for both WL6 and WL7) should avoid including the latter.

We don't use Installshield for WL7, and extension installations don't create any folders. Maybe IQFeed itself created these folders?

We have a potential solution we'll release in IQFeed Build 2 update Monday!

Yes. As long as the clients are on the local host.

Build 2 of the IQFeed provider fixes the static data updating problem; thanks for fixing that. However, my IQFeed password is still prominently displayed in the IQFeed Data Provider Settings box when it should display ******* for the password.
