I'm trying to get data streaming going with IQFeed. On WL7 I get "Error: Streaming Connect failure." I checked with IQFeed and said to contact Wealth-Lab.

You installed the DTN IQFeed Client software? Are you sure you entered your credentials and the correct IP address in the Streaming Providers configuration Data Manager tab? Are there any other messages in the Event Log (Tools menu)? Do the IQFeed apps themselves operate when you launch them?

I didn't enter an IP address. One was written 127.0.0.1, but that is not for this PC. Do I need to enter the correct one in the Streaming Providers tab?

Log Message is "Error getting history (APPS); The System cannot find the file specified."

There is a IQFeed list of applications under the Start menu. One of the options is Diagnostics. When I try this one of the messages is:
"Connection failure for InterQuote tick history server". Is this a hint as to what is wrong.

Yes, you’ll need to get IQFeed proper running before you can connect to it in WL7. You might have to reconnect with DTN staff, just try to get IQFeed itself working first and then we can move onto WL connection.

IQFeed works OK for WL 6.9, no issues. I have chatted with IQFeed, they say I need to work with you.

Hmmm so IQFeed is working in WL6.9 but not working for IQFeed’s own applications? Cone is our IQFeed expert so let’s wait for him to weigh in here!

But I would check your IQFeed WL6 settings and make sure WL7 uses the same settings.

This isn't really an option. IQFeed ONLY allows you to connect to the IQFeed client on the local host. (Note for Dion: we should hide or disable this setting from changes.) That said, we'll have to think of something else if you didn't change this.

Let's do a fresh start and see what indications we get -
1. Restart your PC
2. Start WL7
3. Request data from IQFeed

What happens?

1. I rebooted PC
2. Started WL7
3. Clicked Data Manager/ Streaming Providers
4. Entered APPS in the symbol box and hit Stream Data
5. Message was Error: Streaming Connect Failure
6. Clicked DataSets/My DataSets/ Update DataSet
7. No Bars Added was message

I went through the steps on a new computer and reproduced the issue. Apparently DTN is no longer setting a certain environment variable that was always present previously. This was preventing WL7 from locating IQConnect.exe when newer versions of the IQFeed client are installed. I've rectified it for Build 2 which we'll get released Monday.
