No idea as everything works for me:

Updating DataSet Google (Daily) ...
Up-to-date symbols: 0, Update required for: 0, New symbols: 4
Updating new symbols...
Symbol: KO, Bars: 3949, Last date: 05.07.2013
Symbol: MSFT, Bars: 3986, Last date: 05.07.2013
Symbol: NEM, Bars: 3950, Last date: 05.07.2013
Symbol: RAI, Bars: 3510, Last date: 05.07.2013
Update completed (2.155 sec)
----------------

I just double-checked that nothing's changed in the Google data feed. Could be a temporary issue or connectivity error (most likely). Restart the PC, restart your router, switch to a backup ISP for testing purposes.

I have no idea since everything works on our end. Try wiping out the data for these problematic symbols using the Data Tool and then retry update.

Yes, this is known. The provider is not to blame. MSN stopped updating on June 28 for whatever reason they may have. Probably has something to do with the fact that their charting system was recently revamped.

Here's the online guide: Data Tool

How can I have an idea when I can't reproduce any problem with either intraday or daily Google data, and moreover, I have never experienced it? Google data updates and downloads from scratch here smoothly.

One last suggestion. This is a wild guess, I'm really not sure if it's going to work but still you might want to try it out. Change the decimal AND currency separators in Windows Control Panel > Regional options to "." (dot) instead of "," (comma). Afterwards you'll have to adjust Wealth-Lab's config file to avoid startup crash:

Wealth-Lab crashes on start after changing regional settings

The thing is, the provider will stop (or return 0 bars) if it encounters an error during parsing.

Hi Eugene,

this does not work ;( on my other laptop i have also regional options to "," and not "." and there the update for google data worked....

but on my new laptop with win 8 and newest version of wealth lab it doesnt.... i really dont know what to do know .... i also tried to reinstall extension and delete and update data sets for google again and again.

but always same "error" he says update required for symbols : 0 .. although i have many symbols in data set and there were no update done.

this is stange or ? nobody can help me with this topic ? there must be anyone who knows what to do ?

I am the developer of the Google data provider. When (if) I'm able to reproduce the issue, it'd be easy to understand and fix it. Since it's not possible to reproduce it, nobody can deliver a solution out of the blue. There's nothing strange since it's always hard to troubleshoot something that one can't experience.

One last thing to try: examine installed firewall/antivirus to ensure that Wealth-Lab can connect to any hosts including Google. Maybe it's something network-related (but I'm not sure).

For my future reference, you might want to create a support ticket. Don't forget to indicate that the issue occurs on Windows 8: this can be a clue.

Hi Eugene,

I try to download the following symbols (AAPL GLD QQQQ) with the extension but I get no result. In the log, I see :
QUOTE:
Updating Provider Google Finance ...
Provider update complete for Google Finance
----------------

Update completed (0.15 sec)
----------------

Is there something wrong ?

Hi Alexandre,

Before updating data for the first time for any provider by "Update All Data", perform an "Update DataSet" first.

Apparently, the Google Finance data has now broken beyond repair.
